KEEP Screenings Discover Kidney Disease
Kidney Early Evaluation Program screens participants to determine
their health risk for kidney disease. NKFET has screened thousands
of individuals in East Tennessee. Many of those screened learned
they may have kidney disease. Others were identified for the first
time with hypertension and some with diabetes.
Participants complete a health history questionnaire and receive
blood pressure, weight, urinalysis and blood tests. Every participant
consults with a doctor at the screening and receives detailed
test results in the mail. Those at high risk also receive phone
calls encouraging them to follow up with a physician.
The success of the KEEP program depends upon volunteer physicians,
nurses, board members and community activists as well as corporate
sponsors to continue to reach those in need of screening.
We need your help! If you would like to volunteer to help out
at any or all KEEP events, please contact our office or email
